Wistful can of worms

There are a thousand things I wish I could do, but can't due to reality and physics. Here's the abridged list:
  1. Return loved ones from the dead, Lazarus-style.
  2. Time travel.
  3. Meet the earth's deepest, strangest sea life at the bottom of the Mariana Trench.
  4. Sing.
  5. Settle down in a quiet little town and forget about everything.
Oh well.

Kate Takes 5 has some wonderful and far less whiny impossibilities on offer.

  1. Time travel and singing in the same list? Interesting! Thanks for joining up (love your header btw - always makes me smile) x

  2. What a fab list, I see we would both like to sing and return loved ones from the dead....we have a lot in common:-)

  3. I love your list. I am interested to know what you think would be easier to achieve - time travel or singing?

  4. AFW--ashamed to admit that, whereas I may someday time travel, I will never ever be able to carry a tune. A great sadness because as Kate indicates, singing while travelling would be fabulous (and might also help with the return of loved ones, Carole!)

  5. Just catching up on some of these. I don't know how I missed so many of them. You tugged at my heartstrings in this one!, but I often wondered how Lazarus like "dying again"??!! We may not bring them back, but I recently finished "Life After Death", by D'Souza. It's a great read! ~j

  7. Janna, such a very good point, you are always so wise. I may have to revoke my Lazarus wish in light of this thought...not very loving thing to make a loved one die twice!

  8. Sorry about the double post. Yes, I don't envy Lazarus having to face the dying process twice, but I believe he trusted what his friend, Jesus, told him, and also perhaps glimpsed God's love and beauty for himself, so that he did not fear the second time round what was coming after !
