Paint the rainy town

I love to finger-paint. I find the messiness, the goopiness and the silliness of the experience very liberating. Thing one and thing two are kind enough to indulge me in this habit. They even go along with the official household line: painting is a great educational activity for the kids, develops their creative side, blah blah blah.
The child is mother of the woman.
One of my favourite simple pleasures about early motherhood is the opportunity to behave like a little kid myself - an otherwise rare chance in adulthood. I will miss this when they are older. So we'll paint like mad till then.
This little piggy painted her mama's toes.
A spatter-painted post to hang in The Gallery at Sticky Fingers.

  1. Lovely toe picture, matching too! I love that too, the opportunity to just Sit and doodle. It's my favourite activity with my kids. I have to do my own, it stops me interfereing in their creations. Artistic licence all round!

I love art with my girls too. Thanks for your kind words on my post. Been a bit under the weather, but I'll soon get back on track. Some finger painting might be just the answer ;)

  8. Lovely choice of photos. It's funny but now thatvBurton has started scribbling with crayons, I have had to do some colouring which I haven't done for years and years and it is enjoyable! So I understand what you mean about the finger painting!

  13. I'm really looking forward to when little un is slightly bigger so that we can do all that stuff. Can't wait to start getting messy and creative - probably no reason why we can't start now.

Gorgeous matching toesies and pretty impressed with your finger painting skills too! x
